Carpe Diem Camp was planed by Mr Jeyaram and some of the teachers along with a committee of NIE teachers(Trainee Teachers). Basically, this camp was seriously seriously beyond my expectation. I did not expect this camp to be so awesome. I had a Deep bonding with my group members and also gained experience being able to lead a group and realized my potential and what I can actually do when leading people. Not just all the bonding and activities were fruitful, but the sharing sessions and Social Emotional Learning(SEL) was also an inspiration to me.
The SEL session was an eye openning to me as i actually got a revelation during the session. It was so intresting, Social awareness, Goal Setting, Achieving Goal, Managing Self and people's thoughts. It is just like what Pastor always say,"People don't know how much you know untill they see how much you care".Goal Setting and making sure plans are achived is like Pastor Cho's "4th Dimension"! setting a goal, plan a goal to achive wthin 30days and act as if you were. Mr Jeyaram also encourage us to listen to Nick Vujcic's sermon Wow! He said he'll try to get him to come to my school the next time. I'm so looking forward to it.
Had alot of fun this 2 days, what I'm targetting for my group really did happen! What I targetted was to be the best group of strong relationship and team spirit, other then the usual so called "Best and most tip top group". Really proud of my group and glad that relationship were built during the camp.
As I once had a dream of moulding lives being a teacher in future, coincidentally this camp had all the NIE teachers! Which makes me keen of seeing how and what are the processes like to be a great teacher. From what I saw, those Trainee teacher were very good! And I can feel their passion even when they run this camp. I came to realise that alot of teachers have a deep and strong passion for teaching at the beginning but the passion gets lesser and shallower as years of teaching overcome. It got me thinking,"What is real passion"? I'm going to commit myself as to find out what really is "Real Passion" and i'll come back with a blog post. (got to observe more xD)
Hope to have this kind of camp again probably next year. FUN MAN! I got too inspired and curious to know things now. haha,
